The shaft seal of this 3 inch horizontal slurry sand pump is gland packing. There are also 2 options: Expeller-gland seal and Mechancial seal.
The wet end parts(incuding impeller, volute liner, throat bush, frame plate) could also be natural rubber , Polyurethane, ceramics etc. The advantages of the new materials are as below:
MAH slurry pump with ceramics wet end parts has stronger wear resistance than A05. The service life is 3.5 times of A05 material. The excellent chemical stability of the ceramics make this pump could handle PH 0-12 mediums.
The composite material is silicon carbide coated the pump parts through high heat sintering. The coated parts are wet end parts, including impeller, liner, throat bush and FPL insert. As the volume density of ceramics is smaller than A05, the weight of impeller and liner is much lighter than standard metal and rubber pumps, which could increase the pump efficiency and save 20% power during operation.
The Polyurethane impeller and liner have high rigidity and well wear-resistance. The service life is 3-4 times of rubber slurry pumps. The light weight could reduce the power consumption, which could save 20% electricity and increase the pump efficiency.
